How Thalamura works
Four steps from one name to a full family tree.
The four steps
- 1
Start your tree
Add yourself. Add your parents. That's it — your tree exists.
- 2
Invite your family
Share an invite link with a sibling, parent, cousin, or aunt. Anyone you invite can add the people they remember.
- 3
Let the AI help
The assistant understands Kerala naming conventions and Malayalam oral history. Paste a story, speak a voice note, or just describe a relative — it figures out where they fit on the tree.
- 4
Preserve memories
Attach photos, dates, places, and stories. Mark deceased relatives with memorial notes. Your family's history becomes something the next generation can actually open.
Frequently asked
Is Thalamura free?
Yes — building and sharing your family tree is free.
Who can see my family tree?
Only people you invite. Trees are private by default. There are no public profiles.
Does it work in Malayalam and Arabic?
Yes. The interface and the AI assistant fully support English, Malayalam (മലയാളം), and Arabic (العربية).
Can I add relatives who have not joined?
Yes. Admins can add unclaimed family members — name, photo, dates, stories, memorials — and invite them later when they're ready.
What about deceased relatives?
You can mark relatives as deceased and record death dates, places, causes, and memorial notes.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Thalamura is mobile-first and installable on iOS and Android as a PWA.
